Recruiting for an Inclusive Workforce

BC Assessment is committed to creating a respectful and inclusive workplace that truly reflects the full diversity of the communities it serves. To help bring this vision to life, they partnered with us to develop a culturally informed Indigenous Recruitment Strategy—designed to support short-term hiring needs and long-term goals for inclusion and representation.

Reframing Recruitment

We began by evaluating BC Assessment’s existing hiring materials and onboarding processes to better understand their previous recruitment efforts and identify opportunities for deeper cultural alignment. Building on these insights, we crafted a recruitment strategy grounded in best practices for Indigenous engagement. This included the development of core messaging, recommended outreach channels and tactics, and a culturally resonant visual identity to ensure consistent and respectful communication.

From Vision to Voices

Working within BC Assessment’s brand guidelines, we created a new sub-brand featuring original artwork and culturally relevant design elements. This new identity was applied across a suite of recruitment materials, including a career fair display and recruitment brochure, enabling BC Assessment to build meaningful connections with Indigenous candidates at hiring fairs and in-person events.

With a culturally aligned recruitment strategy, a compelling sub-brand, and event-ready materials, BC Assessment now has the tools to make a strong, values-driven impression on Indigenous job seekers.

This recruitment initiative represents a key step forward in BC Assessment’s commitment to reconciliation and workforce diversity—empowering them to approach Indigenous recruitment with confidence, authenticity, and respect.
